TANGLE TEASER

Hello! Firstly, hey to my new bedding! It's from IKEA and I love it. Onto the blogpost...

Most of my purchases for beauty, skincare, hair and clothes are things I've seen on multiple blogs and have been endlessly raved about. This usually ensures that I'm impressed and my money has gone on things I know that aren't a waste of my time. Do you see where this is going? I hate the Tangle Teaser.

I just don't understand the hype. So many people say that it glides effortlessly through wet hair and is pretty good on dry hair, a couple of my friends use it and love it and are always using mine as I tell them to take it. I've asked on twitter how I can make it work - use it on wet hair, use it while I still have conditioner on my hair, brush the top of my hair then flip my hair over and brush the bottom. All these suggestions and nothing works. I just hate the Tangle Teaser. It doesn't work on me and I have neither thin nor thick hair. I prefer my massive paddle brush for all occasions. Perhaps the Wet Brush on Lily Pebble's recommendation is worth a try, but I just can't bring myself to buy one and be disappointed.

Do you hate the Tangle Teaser too? How do you make it work?!!

SCALLOPED MONOCHROME

Hello! Recently school and clothes have been on my mind. In sixth form at my school we have to wear suits and this year they're letting us wear unmatching suits so with that in mind I purchased a pair of trousers I am in love with to go with my black blazer. Also, for someone who wears a lot of white, I feel I don't quite have enough white tops and for some reason continue to buy more. I love a good white top though!

Scalloped White Top - Topshop | Monochrome Trousers - Phase Eight @ John Lewis

I did mention these trousers in my last Wishlist and I snatched them up to match with a black blazer, a white top and some black boots or flats for school in September (sigh!) I have nothing scalloped?! I love the simple detail of scalloped tops but have never bought one. I'm so glad this doesn't come up cropped on me because everything at the moment seems to be cropped? It's alright to own crop tops, but sometimes I just want a normal length top! I have to wear a cami top under this as it is a bit see through, although it could be tackled with a skin colour bra. New Look do a similar style that isn't see through, but it's the kind of material that makes me sweat before I'm even out the door so I avoided that one! This outfit is very sadly the only thing that makes me look forward to going back to school!

Do you have uniform rules similar to mine? What do you wear to school?

MY TOP LACQUERS

Hello! I have over 80 different nail varnishes if we aren't including back ups (god forbid they discontinue my favourite shades!) but there are 3, all from the same range that really have my heart. I tend not to waste my time and money on more expensive polishes and focus on those on offer in Boots at drugstore prices. You get the best out of the drugstore when it comes to nails, from Barry M's Gelly Hi-Shine's to Maybelline's Super Stay 7, but Rimmell's 60 Second polishes have a very special place in my heart. I honestly don't know why I don't own more. Perhaps part of the reason is that I mostly only wear these three shades!

Rose Libertine is my all time favourite nail polish shade. My nail varnish storage is a blur of pink's but this is one that I can't help but put on my nails. A kind of dusty rose colour that isn't bright, neon or too dark. It's just perfect and it has lasted 7 days on my nails in the past with minimal tip wear and chips on many occasions. That is a winner.

The next two I have are from Rita Ora's range - White Hot Love and Breakfast in Bed. White Hot Love is, unsurprisingly, a white. It is opaque in 2 coats and is slightly pearlized. This isn't noticeable in all lights and I actually think it fades after a day or two of being on your tips. Also, doesn't look like Tipex which is a massive bonus. As with Rose Libertine, the formula is spot on and I can wear it for 5-7 days before I need to take it off (and reapply straight away!)

Breakfast in Bed is a minty blue, rather than a minty green such as Pillow Talk from her range. This colour really enhances my tan that I got last week and I really love it. It also goes with my phone case, which I think is so cute. I haven't worn it without changing my colour before it gets awful yet, but if they're consistent it should be the same as the others!

The brushes and formulas for all polishes are on point. The brushes allow you to coat your nail in one or two swipes and the formula just lasts bloody well and is super shiny. When winter roles around, I will definitely be investing in some darker colours from Rimmel's 60 Second range but in the meantime I've got my beady eyes on Lose You Lingere and Pillow Talk (both by Rita Ora) as well as Mind The Gap Victoria from their permanent collection. With the £3.69 price tag, I can't fault these beauties. I'd be happy to just have this range as my whole nail polish collection!

Have you tried any of Rita Ora's colours? Or any from their permanent collection?

BRONZING UP

Hello! After the sun has been out in England (shock!!) and I've been on holiday somethings just aren't matching up. My foundations are all a little on the pale side and while I am not wearing it all the time at the moment, when I do I need to bronze it up. I spoke to the girl in Space NK who matched me when I was choosing my shade of Sheer Glow and I decided to go with my 'actual' skin colour and bronze up after my holidays, so here's what I've been doing.

My favourite duo for bronzing up is the Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush with the Bourjois Bronzing Powder - the one that looks like chocolate. My Nars Sheer Glow shade is Deauville which is normally the perfect match but as I said, all this sun has bronzed up my face! I think this brush is great because of the duo-fiberness as it doesn't pick up too much product or put too much on and makes the product super easy to blend out. Also, this brush has a slight flatness to it, so it's also really good for contouring! Bourjois got their colouring right with this product! I think I have one of the lightest shades as I like to just keep it subtle so that it matches my neck and brightens up my complexion. It's not too orange, brown or dark and just makes me have a bit of a glow which is the way I like it!

Have you tried this bronzer? Are you also bronzing up this summer?

BROW ARCHERY

Hello! Remember when I said I was feeling simple brows? That is still true but when I'm dressing up a bit more I like to make sure they have a bit more shape and are less sparse. Nothing too over the top or anything, but I've found a new product which gets it done!

Soap & Glory's Brow Archery has been on my wishlist for a long time and I often don't get to pick it up as it's sold out - I even check in all the drawers underneath! But this time there was one left and I just went for it! I got the colour Brownie Points as I think Love is Blonde would just be too light for my brows but I do think they could do with working on a darker shade. Mine is perfect, but if you had darker brows I struggle to see how it would make a difference at all! I've heard so many good things about it and I really liked the idea of the routine that came along with using the product.

On one end, there is a thin brush which is lots of bristles packed together and formed into a thin point, which gives you ultimate precision. It is a lovely colour which I think really matches my brows well - not too dark or light, ashy or red-toned! This part allows you to fill in sparse areas and create a little bit of shape if you want or need to.

The second side is a waxy wind up pencil which also has colour in, allowing you to make your brows again have more shape and fill in sparse areas. Like the pen, it's a great match for my brows and it doesn't make them look drawn on - this product still makes them look natural, just way better.

I tend to use the pen end for just filling in and the pencil end to create shape in my brows but I'm so happy that I finally managed to get my hands on this. If you want to do something to your brows but don't want to go overboard then I really recommend this to you guys! Now I just need a good threading session - I'm so lazy with my brows at the moment!

Have you tried this? And did you love it as much as I do?

SATURDAY NIGHT WISHLIST

Hello! If your Saturday night as exciting as mine? I've found myself to actually be quite busy for the past two weeks, being away in Chester and out quite late enjoying my summer with friends and then out again the next day, so it feels good to be in on a Saturday night!

I find myself looking for things for when it gets a bit nippier while internet shopping at the moment. I say internet shopping, I really mean just browsing but I thought I would share a couple of things I have my eye on at the moment.

Wishlist

Trousers - Planet @ John Lewis | Trousers - Phase Eight @ John Lewis | T-Bar Shoes - eBay | Seche Vite - Boots | Bourjois Rouge Velvet - Boots | Revlon Colour Boost - Boots | Moonstone Ring - eBay | Mac - eBay

Firstly, as I have to start thinking about what I might need when I go back to school, I'm really in need of some new trousers. At my school I have to wear a suit everyday but I don't have to match the materials so I can pair these trousers with a black blazer and a simple black or white top. I also love these shoes and think they would look really cute with my suit if it continues to stay dry. You can find lots of different styles of T-Bar shoes on eBay for varying prices and while it's dry in England I really want to get my hands on a pair. Seche Vite is something that is constantly on my wishlist but I never seem to reach out and buy but I am dying to try this out as soon as I can! The two lip products are me lusting over dark, red lips. I can't wait for it to get a bit colder and to wear these colours out one evening. They don't feel right to me in summer! The ring is something I always have my eye on on eBay but I never actually buy, similar to Seche Vite, but I wish I would just bite the bullet and get myself one! Finally, my friend has a retro-style tracksuit top type thing and if it's cold it's great to chuck on and as I don't really own a waterproof coat I thought this was cute for the rainier weather. Bright, right?

SKINCARE HAUL

Hello! I somehow managed to let myself run incredibly low on all of my skincare so I had to do an order of just about everything bar cleanser and an exfoliator. I headed onto Boots which have some pretty good deals right now and made myself a small online order...

I love Garnier's skincare range and have tried their moisturizers before which I think are great for balancing out your skin in a specific way to you as they have so many to offer. I hadn't tried the Micellar Water before but I have tried others like it's 'rival' from L'Oreal and I think that this is definitely better value for momey as you get double the amount for the same price with this one. Whether it will impress me as much will be revealed in the future but I have high hopes. Lastly from Garnier, I am not really a toner person, but as this one was free of alcohol, perfumes and colourants I thought that it would be worth a go. While I don't religiously search for products which don't contain the harsh things, I like it when it's on offer and especially when it's from a brand that I trust.

The product I was most excited about in my order was Una Brennan's Super Facialist Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Mask. I've heard such good things about her skincare range and she's a well known name who knows her stuff. I've been after a mask that isn't from Lush for a while and I am relying on this to unclog my pores and keep break outs away.

I'll be doing un updated skincare routine soon as it has changed a lot since I previously did one, but until then... Is there anything you love skincare-wise that I need to be trying out?
